TELC B2 model tests, scored like the real exam.
What's inside each Modelltest
Each Modelltest follows the exact structure of the official telc Deutsch B2 written exam:
Leseverstehen und Sprachbausteine — 90 minutes
Reading and language elements in one timed block. Five magazine texts matched to headlines, a long article with multiple-choice questions, ten situations matched to short information texts — then twenty grammar and vocabulary gaps, half of them filled from a word bank. Scored instantly with the official B2 weighting, where one item can be worth 5 points and another 2.5.
Hörverstehen — about 20 minutes
A news bulletin, a radio interview and five public announcements: twenty richtig/falsch decisions. Everything plays exactly once, as on exam day — no replays, no second chances. Scored instantly.
Schriftlicher Ausdruck — 30 minutes
Choose one of two tasks — an inquiry or a complaint to a company, prompted by an advertisement — and write a semi-formal e-mail of at least 150 words. Your text is corrected against the official telc B2 examiner criteria, with a point score and the pass line marked. Results in minutes, not weeks.
You finish the exam, you get your score: all 225 written points, broken down by section, with the 135-point pass threshold clearly marked. No waiting, no guessing.

Common questions
“How many Modelltests are included?”
A growing library of full telc Deutsch B2 Modelltests, each with its own pair of Schriftlicher Ausdruck tasks, plus extra standalone writing exercises to practise between full mocks. We add new exams regularly.
“Are these official telc exams?”
No. Our Modelltests are independently written to match the official telc Deutsch B2 format, structure, scoring and difficulty. b1class is not affiliated with telc gGmbH.
“What's the passing score for TELC B2?”
60% of the written exam (135 of 225 points) and 60% of the oral exam (45 of 75 points), each passed separately. Our mocks cover the written exam and show you where you fall on every section, so you know before exam day whether you're above or below the line.
“How is TELC B2 different from TELC B1?”
The skeleton is the same — 60 items in the same order, the same 90 + 20 + 30 minute clock — but every part is harder. Reading texts are magazine-length journalism. The Hörverstehen is a news bulletin, a radio interview and public announcements, and everything plays only once (B1 replays two of its three parts). Writing means choosing between an inquiry and a complaint to a company, at least 150 words, instead of a personal e-mail. And individual items carry different weights, so one wrong answer can cost 5 points. See TELC B1 mocks →
“Is telc Deutsch B2 the same as telc B2 Beruf?”
No. telc Deutsch B2 is the general-language certificate most employers, chambers and universities ask for. telc Deutsch B2+ Beruf, and the Medizin and Pflege exams, are separate certificates with workplace-specific content and different tasks. Our Modelltests follow the general telc Deutsch B2 format.
“Can I download a TELC B2 Modelltest as a PDF?”
Our Modelltests run online because the real exam's timing and once-played audio can't be reproduced on paper — the exam paper is rendered exactly like the official one, and the audio plays as it will on exam day. The free Modelltest needs no account.
“Do you offer speaking practice?”
We cover the written exam — Leseverstehen, Sprachbausteine, Hörverstehen and Schriftlicher Ausdruck. The Mündliche Prüfung is scored separately by telc; for speaking preparation we recommend working with a teacher or a speaking partner.
